The Goodman group is going to build a logistics centre in Wallonia
The Australian group Goodman has decided to invest in the heart of the Garocentre logistics platform (La Louvière). The logistics centre that covers more than 14,000m², Goodman's first installation in Wallonia, will be leased to the company Cophana.
Active in pharmaceutical logistics, Cophana, which employs 33 people, currently rents a building in the Garocentre economic activity zone.
At the end of 2020, this building will be made available to CSP Benelux (storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products) which will become the sole occupant.
In order to pursue its activities at the ideally located Garocentre site, Cophana will move to the new Goodman logistics centre. This installation will facilitate the synergies which Cophana wishes to favour with the neighbouring firm, Pharma Belgium.
Sarah Van Hoecke, country manager for Goodman
“At Goodman, we want to take full account of sustainability in the design, construction and use of buildings."
As a territorial facilitator and economic development operator, IDEA is pleased to see the materialisation of this project that allows Cophana to truly establish itself in the Heart of Hainaut, to create 17 new jobs in the pharmaceutical logistics sector, and to ensure the international group's first investment in Wallonia.
The Garocentre logistics platform which covers an area of 200 hectares, is currently home to 56 companies and about 1,500 workers.
